Delhi-based fashion influencer Sakshi Sindwani made a sensational debut at Cannes 2025 in a stunning Gauri & Nainika gown. Representing L’Oréal, she overcame luggage mishaps to grace the red carpet with confidence, championing body positivity and inclusive fashion on a global stage.
The saying "the world is round and small" has become true recently. Ever since Aishwarya Rai debuted at Cannes in 2002, she has made history as the first Indian actress on the Cannes jury in 2003. Since then, there's no turning back for Bollywood stars on the international red carpet.
Not just A-listers, but even influencers are embracing the Festival de Cannes in Palais des Festivals, in Cannes, France. One such influencer is Sakshi Sindwani, who represented L'Oréal. Known for her body positivity advocacy and unique sartorial choices, the star, with her Instagram account 'Style Me Up With Sakshi', has a 6.97 lakh following. She embraces her body and fashion, amalgamating them enthusiastically.
The Delhi-based fashion influencer wore a gorgeous lavender gown with off-shoulder sleeves, a see-through fabric in the middle, and a trail of ocean-like fabric designed by Gauri & Nainika. Her outfit choice was applauded, but that was hard work as Sakshi faced a major hurdle. Upon reaching Nice, France, she found out that all four of her bags had gone missing, lost by Lufthansa and Swiss International Airlines. Expressing her distress on Instagram, she highlighted the mishap and its impact on her Cannes debut. But, by now, we all know she slayed on the carpet. Even during such a distressing time, she kept in touch with her followers, regularly updating them.
This is not her first international stint. In September 2024, she made her global debut at Dubai Fashion Week for the brand ITRH, created by designer Ridhi Bansal and creative director Mohit Rai. Sakshi left the spectators awestruck with her walk for Deme by Gabriella, where designer Gabriella Demetriades presented a collection of cosy yet bold drapes. Additionally, Sakshi attended the Georges Hobeika show in October 2024 during Paris Fashion Week.
Sakshi has earlier collaborated with renowned designer Manish Malhotra on various occasions, including his Nooraniyat Bridal Edit and a fashion film. She donned a pink-hued lehenga on her wedding, designed by Malhotra. She also collaborated with Tarun Tahiliani, who created a lehenga for her Haldi ceremony.
Sakshi made Forbes India's '30 Under 30' list in January 2023 and appeared on the magazine's cover with other influencers. She's also active on her YouTube channel, 'StyleMeUpWithSakshi,' where she shares styling tips and personal experiences, further promoting her message of body positivity.
Her Cannes appearance was another milestone in her sartorial career as a plus-size influencer known for breaking fashion stereotypes and furthering inclusivity.
